Founded in 1910, Troop 1 Hingham is one of the oldest Boy Scout troops in the U.S. We are part of the Cranberry Harbors District in the Mayflower Council.

e have our own Scout House on 162 Leavitt St., Hingham and meet up for

April 8 2023 - 10:00am (Scouthouse) - Apr 9 2023 - 10:00am (Wompatuck Scout Area 2) 
Backpack Camping! Camping and Cooking Merit Badge Field Requirements (Eagle Required) - SIGN UP HERE 
We will take a 90 min (3.6 mile) walk from the Scout House to Scout Area 1 carrying all the gear, tents, food, water etc we will need to camp out overnight in Wompatuck. We will cover off the field camping requirements for the Camping Merit badge and Cooking Merit Badge (Eagle Required!) as well as Camping and requirements for rank advancement. 
Itinerary:
10:00am: Arrive at Scout House to shakedown, prepare and divide food and equipment between the campers. Requirements for Tenderfoot, 2nd Class.
11:30am: Cook lunch at the scout house before we leave to give us enough energy to get there. Requirements for Tenderfoot, 2nd Class. 
12:30pm: Depart for walking into Wompatuck to Scout Area 2 covering requirements for 1st Class Compass and Map work, Cooking Requirements. 
2:30pm:  Arrive at Scout area 2 and set up camp - covering requirements for Tenderfoot, 2nd Class. 
3:00pm: Build outdoor Shelters requirements, Lashings, set up water collection devices, navigation etc. 
5:00pm: Cook dinner
6:00pm: Campfire program starts. Each Patrol will need a skit to perform.

We will head down the Deerfield river on Saturday afternoon and  do a canopy zipline tour on Sunday Morning - Camping overnight at a campground in the Berkshires in Massachusetts (90 mins drive)

Bring a parent, grandparent, uncle or aunt to help drive all the food that people have donated via Stop & Shop to the Hingham Food Pantry. 
The Hingham Food Pantry provides free food to feed families and individuals in need. They supply groceries for residents that do not have enough food because they lack the resources to purchase it. They serve everyone that comes to the pantry for food assistance, regardless of their race, color, or religion.
Meet at Stop & Shop Hingham car park near the right side door at 10am April 1st. Stay for as long as you can, come for one hour or come for all 5!

Early Release Wack Wednesday - Sledding at South Shore Country Club Sledding hill (opposite #73 Newbridge St)

SLEDDING and/or Skating at South Shore Country Club Golf Course.
Meet on NewBridge Street at the top pf the Sledding Hill
Bring Sleds and anything you want to slide down the hill on.
Snow dependent but looking good on today's forecast!
