Anyone want to learn winter outdoor skills and camping?
The Mayflower Counsel 2022 Freeze Out will continue the tradition of past Freeze Out events in that it will emphasize and focus on outdoor winter camping, cooking, winter games and survival skills. Camp Resolute provides a unique logistical layout for the events planned. Units are strongly encouraged to promote cold weather camping preparation into January troop meeting programs. In particular, meeting content should focus on gear, i.e. sleeping bags and layered appropriate clothing that allow extended time in the cold with flexibility and comfort. The Freeze Out will focus on 9 events, hosted by 10 Troops or Crews and an ending Sled Race Event. REGISTER HERE ->

Thank you for making this year's tree drive a success!

Posted on Jan 11 2022 - 6:22am

Thank you for making this year's tree drive a success!  We picked up around 1350 trees over the three days and raised enough money to cover many of the Troop's 2022 activities.  Also “tree drive” is especially relevant this year as we need to pay to remove that fallen tree at the scout house.

A special thank you goes to Gary Gorzcyca for his three days of pickups (one day as a 1 man pickup crew!) and his adept customer service with the barrage of pickup emails this year, and to those families that volunteered for all three pickup days : the Wegener's (Shawn and Michael), the Chipman's (Bob, Luke, and Colton), and the Power's (Dan, Conor, and Brendan).  And thank you to Marty Buckley for all of his support throughout the tree drive.

Please feel free to contact me if you'd like to help with future tree drive preparations.  Looking forward to an even better drive next year! _ More photos here

Urgent - We Need Scouts for Saturday, January 8th Tree Pickup

Posted on Jan 3 2022 - 9:44am

We are getting close to the tree drive and urgently need scouts and their parents for day 2 on Saturday, January 8th.  As of now, we only have 4 scouts signed up and each day we generally need 12+ scouts helping out.  We can always use parents as chase car drivers (carrying scouts on pickup routes to load trees at each stop).  Please consider signing up, even if you can only do a few hours that day, as all help is appreciated.  We also ask that all scouts sign up for a minimum of one day so, if you haven't signed up yet, we can use your help on the 8th especially.  For this Saturday only, we will be dropping all trees at Weir River Farm for their bonfire event.

Thanking you in advance for your contribution to a successful 2022 fundraiser!
