BIG THANKS to all those that helped raise over $6,000 for Troop 1 Hingham yesterday! (you know who you are)
Two more days to go next weekend and we will have paid for a lot of our Scouting Adventures for 2021!

Well done Mr Blanch in his first year running this fund raising activity with his Chief Advisor Mr Power.

More photos can be found here and if you have some to share please upload them here.

If anyone asks you if we can pickup their tree, tell them to book in for Sunday at

Sign Up for the Christmas Tree Drive!

We’re getting ready for the Tree Drive! Because this is so important to Troop 1, all Scouts are required to participate. Please click on the days you can help with: Day 1, Sun. 01/03Day 2, Sat. 01/09Day 3, Sun. 01/10. Mayflower Council's COVID-19 policy discourages "car pooling", so Scouts should not sign up without a parent.

Three requests for the Tree Drive

Posted on Dec 6 2020 - 5:58pm
Hi everyone,
We’re getting ready for the Christmas Tree Pick-up Drive - our biggest fundraiser of the year! This is how we pay for things like the Scout House’s upcoming new roof, and why we don’t charge separate fees for camping and a lot of other Scouting events. Because this is so important to the Troop, all Scouts are required to participate.
(1) Handing out flyers at the Transfer Station! We’ll be there next weekend, and each Scout needs to do at least one 2-hour shift. Please sign up at the links below:
(2) Sign up for the Tree Drive itself! Each Scout needs to do at least one day, and this year (due to COVID-19), parents need to accompany their Scout because car-pooling is not being allowed by Mayflower Council. Please sign up at the links below:
(3) Help us spread the word via social media! Start by liking or following our pages:
Then, create a post on your own pages, something along the lines of:
The Boy Scouts in Hingham Troop 1 can make your life easier by recycling your Christmas tree after the holidays! You can sign up and make a donation online at Make sure to put your tree out curbside by 8:00 a.m. on the day you choose. Thank you for supporting Hingham’s Boy Scouts!
